welcome, rebels

i'm emily
your rebellious yoga teacher. with over a decade of personal practice and eight years of teaching experience, I’m a 200-hour certified yoga teacher trained in vinyasa and hatha styles.
my yoga journey began as rehabilitation after a sports injury, a way to rebuild balance and strength. but what started as physical recovery quickly became a deep passion for movement and mindfulness.

from chaos to control
yoga evolved into a daily discipline of intentional movement, breath work, and deeper self-awareness. it gave new meaning to the inner life force we take for granted and move through every day without a second thought. bringing greater awareness to our breath flowing in and out of our lungs or our heartbeat carrying us each steps forward. that shift pushed me towards my yoga teacher training in fall of 2018 so I could start sharing my passion with others. after years of teaching in studios and building real connections with students, something in my own practice still felt missing.
music has been a defining force in my life from an early age and remains a deep driving passion. while traditional yoga studio playlists are often considered “acceptable,” they never fully resonated with me. I was drawn to something with weight, intensity, and the power to move both body and mind at its core.
heavy metal, grunge, hard rock and classic rock have always consumed my headphones and speakers. integrating that energy into my practice felt natural and from that, rebellious yoga was born. a fusion of mindful movement and unconventional music, created for those who challenge the norms and move to their own rhythm.

where music meets movement

community over perfection
music is the one thing that can captivate massive crowds and no matter how different each individual is at a live concert event, in that moment, you and every person in that venue have at least one thing in common. the music.
yoga is identical to music. you can be a stranger to the person next to you on the mat, or the teacher in the classroom but we all connect as a community for the love and passion of practicing yoga. a sense of belonging in a shared space of like-minded people.
rebellious yoga invites you to a unique form of yoga practice finding strength, balance and mindfulness while moving to the raw sounds of grunge, heavy metal, rock and roll.
